Thai TV Global Network is the first and only satellite TV croadcasting center in Thailand. TGN, under the operation of the Royal Thai Army Television, provides 24-hour-programs broadcasting to 144 countries in five continents, reaching 350 million viewers around the world. By employing state-of-the-art technology, TGN has proudly been able to broadcast all facets of Thai life and activities including information, news, entertainment, and other aspects of Thai culture directly to viewers around the world, through their home television sets.

Ever since the beginning, TGN has received overwhelming responses from viewers residing in different parts of the world. The sales of signal receivers continually increases to reach nearly 100,000 units. Additionally, TGN also sends program signal to France’s TPS cable TV company, who has more than 450,000 subscribers. High demand from viewers around the world makes TGN realizes its viable marketplace.

In The United States of America, the contact has been made with local companies in the States of California and New York (Highest Thai population concentration) to broadcast Thai TV global programs. The action is ecpected to take place in the very near future. Therefore, more than six million viewers who are currently subscribe to these local cable companies will be able to watch TGN programs for only minimal fee increase.

Currently, TGN is attempting to improve satellite TV receiver purchasing system, as well as, establishing sales representatives. The signal receivers will be purchased from a single supplier, which will greatly reduce the cost per unit. In the past, installation cost used to differ greatly in different states or different countries. However, single supplier system will enable TGN to sell the receiver at almost the same price in every area with minor differences due to shipping costs and local tax rates.

In adition, the sales representative in each location will have more tangible role to play beyond just selling and installing the signal receivers. The representatives will also provide after sales services, find sponsors, produce commercial video, and produce additional programs for the station. In the future, there will be an establishment of sales ofices by private sectors in foreign cities where Thai population live in lare number.

TGN used to broadcast 8-hour-program shift and re-air it twice a day in order to reach greatest number of viewers in different time zones in their peak viewing time. However, by repeatedly airing the same programs three times daily, the viewers have become bored and disinterested. Thus, TGN decided to replace it with 12-hour-program shift and re-air it only once. This will increase the amount of programs being broadcasted, as well as, reducing rerunning programs. It will also enable the viewers to watch interest programs easily no matter what time zone they live in. If they miss the program when it aires the first time, they still could view it during rerun time airing.
